Le prime infermiere inviate in zona di guerra,\u00a0<\/span>Lydia Tesio\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>e la marchesa\u00a0<\/span>Alberta Marazzani Visconti<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>(che fu poi anche all\u2019ospedale n. 238 di San Giorgio) entrarono in servizio all\u2019ospedale militare n. 071 di Palmanova il 27 maggio 1915, solo tre giorni dopo lo scoppio del conflitto. Nella sua ricognizione del 12 giugno, l\u2019ispettrice nazionale annoter\u00e0:\u00a0<\/span>\u00abavendo fatto un corso accelerato, lavorano indefessamente come infermiere. Dire del servizio prestato in quel tempo \u00e8 difficile. Si faceva di tutto, secondo il momento e il maggior bisogno: sala d\u2019operazioni, medicazioni, assistenza agli infettati: colera (non esistevano ancora, o venivano formandosi, i vari lazzaretti), meningite cerebro spinale, tetano, cancrena gassosa, alienati, eresipelatosi, tifo, ecc. ecc.
